Residents

  • How is accessibility regulated for care services?

We are in dialogue with the regional care providers and work out solutions for the use of necessary care services.

  • What are blocking circuits?

The outer restricted area is intended to direct visitors travelling to the large reception car parks. Current plans include checkpoints in Rugiswalde, Schönbach, Hainersdorf (Bosch), Lichtenhain and Hertigswalde (Ottendorf junction).

The inner restricted area comprises the actual festival area. Only those with a legitimate interest may enter this area. This includes, for example, showmen, sales and delivery vehicles. All vehicles parked on private property also require a corresponding vignette. These vehicles may not be moved out of the property in the period from 4 to 7 September 2025 inclusive.

The festival area will be declared a pedestrian zone throughout the festival period. This means that vehicles of all kinds will not be allowed to move around in this area. There will be no parking or stopping facilities on public roads and squares within the inner restricted area.

  • What restrictions can the residents of Sebnitz expect?

As is customary for the ‘Day of the Saxons’ and was already practised in 2003, there will be an outer and an inner perimeter. The festival area in particular must be specially protected.

Restrictions and additional regulations are therefore essential in the festival area (inner restricted area) and in the neighbouring area (outer restricted area). Private matters such as removals, parcel deliveries, home improvements etc. are not possible during the festival weekend. If possible, parcel deliveries via Deutsche Post/DHL should be made directly to a packing station and collected there individually.

Please take this into account when making your plans.

  • When do the restrictions apply?

To ensure a smooth preparation and execution of the festival, construction measures or special uses (e.g., containers) in the event area can only be permitted in exceptional and justified cases during the period from July 1 to August 31, 2025.

This regulation serves to optimally prepare the infrastructure for the festival and avoid disruptions caused by construction sites. From September 1 to September 10, 2025, no special uses are possible at all.

Setting up a festival of the size of the ‘Tag der Sachsen’ takes some time. Initial setup work will begin as early as two weeks before the event.

The inner restricted area will come into effect on Thursday morning, September 4, 2025, while the outer restricted area will be enforced early on Friday, September 5, 2025. After this, entry will only be possible with an appropriate permit.

  • When, where and how can I apply for access authorisations (vignettes)?

Persons with a legitimate interest can apply for access authorisations (vignettes) from the Sebnitz city administration using a form. Applications can be submitted until 13 June 2025.

Each vehicle requires its own vignette, a transfer is excluded. The vignettes will be dispatched from July 2025.

  • Where will the alternative car parks be located?

The plan is to provide meadow areas on Horn and Schandauer Straße (near the Aldi supermarket) for this purpose. These areas can be reached on foot or by bicycle, for example.

  • Who can apply for access authorisations (vignettes)?

Access authorisations (vignettes) for the outer restricted area can be applied for by persons with a legitimate interest, i.e. both residents and employees with a place of work in the inner or outer restricted area.

Companies can also submit applications for their company vehicles/service vehicles and for suppliers’ vehicles.

Access authorisations for the inner restricted area can only be granted in exceptional cases following an application and personal interview.

It is not possible for guests to apply for vignettes. They can park in the designated visitor car parks.

  • Who can apply for alternative parking spaces?

Residents and persons with a legitimate interest (e.g. employees, tradespeople, tourists who have booked accommodation in the inner restricted area)

  • Who needs a vignette?

All motor vehicles that are parked or moved in the inner or outer restricted zone require a corresponding vignette. Motorised two-wheelers and bicycles are exempt.

  • Will there be access authorisations (vignettes)?

Yes, there will be a multi-level vignette system.

  • Will there be parking alternatives for residents?

Yes, residents can apply for an alternative car park in the outer restricted area. Residents of the inner restricted area can also use their own alternative parking facilities in private, enclosed areas with a corresponding vignette (e.g. garage; parking on their own property – not in public spaces).

Please note that the vehicle cannot be moved in the inner restricted area from 4 to 7 September 2025 inclusive. It will also not be possible to drive out of properties and/or company premises.

Participants

  • How can local traders still be present?

Anyone wishing to be present in public areas on ‘Tag der Sachsen’ must apply for a stand via the Schröder agency’s trader portal at www.tagdersachsen2025.de/en

Participation is regulated in a stand contract.

  • Why is the special use permit for local businesses suspended?

The suspension of existing special use permits is common for festivals of this size. It is necessary, for example, to be able to set up the structures required for the festival (e.g. laying electricity and water pipes).

Sales stands on the streets and squares are also an inseparable part of a public festival. These are also essential for catering to the expected visitors. The income from the rental of these stands is an important pillar in the financing of the festival.

With the suspension of special use, we receive a handling of what can be seen in the festival area and how the streets and squares can be used. This allows the organiser to ensure that all necessary rules regarding safety and order are adhered to.
